Application	(11Z)-Tetradecen-1-ol is a long-chain fatty alcohol that can be produced in yeast by the heterogenous expression of genes involved in insect pheromone production. It has been postulated that acetyltransferases may catalyze the formation of acetates from acetyl-CoA and fatty alcohols in pheromone biosynthesis in insects.
